Knaptoft Medieval Fishponds

This popular South Leicestershire fishery was opened in 1979 . Restoration of these medieval fishponds was started in 1976 (Pool 4) and finished with Pool 1 in 1982. The small number of mirror carp that stocked Pool 4 flourished so well in the early years that no other carp have been introduced.

A small number of Roach, Rudd, and Tench were brought in from the existing medieval fishpond at Knaptoft Hall just two fields away.

OPEN ALL YEAR ROUND--(DAWN TO DUSK.)

No Night-fishing.

DAY TICKET: £4.

O.A.P's & Under 16's: £3.

EVENING TICKET: £2.50p

(after 4 pm May-September)

GROUND-BAIT.

NIGHT-FISHING.

ALWAYS - USE A LANDING NET.

HAVE A ROD LICENCE WITH YOU.

PLEASE TAKE ALL YOUR LITTER HOME.
